As you all know already, I adore my little Connor. I know most parents feel this way about their children. I also know that the things he says and does are probably cuter to Mat and I than they are to everyone else, but I wanted to share them anyway. No matter how bad my day has been, he always makes me smile. Here are some of the ways...
- The very first thing out of his mouth this morning when he woke up was, "Did Santa come yet?"
- As I was laying down with him to sleep tonight, he said, "Last day (his term for yesterday...also very cute) I closed my eyes and I realized there was a movie behind them." I believe this is his way of describing a dream.
- Last week, he was at my mom's talking on his pretend cell phone. At one point he said, "Oma, go to the other level (a different room). You are disturbing me."
- Yesterday, while I was gone shopping, he told Daddy.. "My elephant is getting bigger." For those who don't know, "elephant" is Connor's name for his penis.
- He is starting to learn to negotiate and compromise. For example, tonight when he wanted to go to Tante Nen-Nen's to play with her train, he said, "But mommy, I've seen you all day and I haven't seen Tante Nen-Nen in a long time!"
- A few nights ago he was saying his prayers before going to sleep. For each person he wanted to pray for, he had to say the same prayer over and over (complete with the "father, son, and holy spirit"). The prayer was "bless us oh lord for these thy gifts...
- Connor's preschool teacher has a little elf in her classroom (http://www.theelfontheshelf.com/) Each day, they elf is hiding in a different place in the classroom. The story is that the elf (aka "Gingerbread") watches them and then reports back to Santa at night. We have to run in every morning to find the elf. When he sees him, he gets SO excited, almost screaming with excitement. It is honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen.
- He has a play guitar. He walks around the house pretending to strum on his guitar and sings "Jingle Bells".
- Aunt Sam is pregnant (WOO HOOO!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS SAM AND MIKE WE ARE SOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!). Connor wants to know if we can take care of Aunt Sam's baby at our house.
- He loves to pretend to talk on the phone. He has conversations with all sorts of people, both real and imagined. One day, he was talking to Grandma, who was in jail because she said "stupid".
Hope these little tales made you smile, even just a little. Merry Christmas!!!

hillarious and very sweet!! So I just wanted to check in with you on Connors toy or character of choice...trains? or I thought Oma mentioned Handy Manny?
So cute. I love how kids just say what they want.
Great post Ms. Ciny. I enyoyed reading the wonderful and hilarious things Connor says and does each day. This time is short and precious! In no time he will be off to school saying,"not now, I gotta go Mom!" or get "quiet" around the parents. Please tell Connor that you can watch Aunta Sam's baby at your house, our house, any house really! :-) Love to you, Aunt Sam
too cute, Katey does the same randomness and it cracks me up! Last night when she was taking a bath I told her that it was time to get out and she responded with "NO! I cant! I have lots of stuff to do!" I asked her what stuff she had to do and she said "cant you see all these toys in here"
i love this age!
