First Ever Soccer Game

Today was Connor's first ever soccer game. He did great! We had some confusion over which goal to aim for, but overall it was very fun, and very cute!

Yes we are still alive

Yes.. we are still here. I know it has been a long time since I've posted. Things have become very busy for me with a new position at work and trying to fit in time to exercise, etc. Here are some of the things we've been up to for the past couple of months. I will try to do better about keeping up!! Hope you enjoy!

The Air Show

Last weekend, the Thunderbirds were in town for the airshow. Here are some pictures I was lucky enough to get. What an amazing show!

Bird Nest

We had a bird nest in our backyard this spring and had the pleasure of watching the eggs hatch and baby birds grow. Connor very much enjoyed watching this, and we were lucky enough to have the nest low enough to allow us to take pictures.

Mother's Day Tea

In May, Connor's preschool class hosted a Mother's Day tea for us. It was adorable. Connor escorted me in saying, "May I take you to your seat?". Then he pulled out my chair for me and served me a cookie. They also sang us songs and had some special gifts for us. It was so sweet.

The answers he gave to questions about mommy... BLACK hair????

Weekend in Sonoma

At the end of April, Mat and I went on a no-kid trip to Sonoma. We had a great time wine tasting (one of my favorite things to do), going to an A's game, dining in San Francisco and enjoying the company of great friends. Here are some pictures of our getaway.

For the birds!

Connor LOVES to do "projects" so today we went to Michaels and stocked up on project supplies. Today's activity was buying a bird house and letting him paint it. Here are some pictures...(some silly ones too...)

Future Baseball Player

For his birthday, Connor got a baseball tee from Tante Nen-Nen, he and daddy practiced with it and it was very cute. I'm sure these are the first of many, many father/son baseball pictures.

Train Show

Last Saturday (not yesterday but the week before) we took Connor to the model train show. Of course he had a wonderful time, and now wants to build a "train layout" in our basement. UGH.... I have visions of him as a grown man in stripped overalls with an engineers hat. Oh well. But we are NOT building a train layout in the basement! Anyway here are some pix!

Birthday Blowout!

Connor rang in #4 with style! We had a little family celebration on the actual day of his birthday, he got to take cupcakes to school, and the Saturday following his birthday was the much anticipated party at Chuck E Cheese. I think the kids all had a lot of fun, but mommy and daddy had to come home and have some adult beverages to cope with the chaos. To give those that weren't lucky enough to attend some perspective, Chuck E Cheese was at capacity....there were actually people waiting outside in line to get in. It was nuts! We will definitely be looking for a different venue next year. The important thing though, is that our little Connor had a wonderful time, and really, that's all that matters! Here are some pictures to commemorate the event!

My Little Boy is 4!!!

Connor age 3

Connor age 4 (well, almost)

In a few hours, my wonderful little boy will turn 4 years old. He's very, very, very excited to be a "big boy". I cannot believe he is four already, it has gone by so fast. He's turned into this little person who can have conversations with me and is getting quite good at negotiations.
Connor is an amazing, sweet, wondeful little boy and I feel so lucky to have him. Happy Birthday Connor!!

They were Kung Fu fighting....

Ok.. so maybe it's not exactly Kung Fu fighting, but it's close enough.. and HILARIOUS. Daddy went to Target today and got 2 stryofoam swords and brought them home for Connor. They were $2 total, but I think it was the best money we ever spent. Connor had a blast, and mommy and daddy couldn't stop laughing. Here are some pictures of our little sword fighter...

Finally Hawaii Pictures!

So, finally, here are the pictures from Hawaii. I had a very, very hard time narrowing down enough for a slide show (I took A LOT of pictures) and it's still a little long. I hope you enjoy it anyway. I didn't include any from the Polynesian Cultural Center because those were of the different cultures and not really of any of us. Aloha!

Hawaiian Landscapes

Apparently I took quite a few pictures in Hawaii... and it's taking me a while to get them all sorted. Here are some of my favorite landscape pictures. I will post fun pictures of the things we saw and did later tongiht (at least that is my goal). Hope you enjoy. Let me know if you like any of these....

BRRRR I didn't want to come back....

We arrived back in Salt Lake this morning. Our flight left Honolulu at 10:35 pm (1:30 am MT UGH) and landed about 7:30 am MT. Needless to say, we are all exhausted, especially Mr. Connor. He slept on the plane but overall didn't get as much sleep on our vacation as he could have.

We had a wonderful time on our trip. I went a little crazy and took tons of pictures, which I have yet to sift through. The weather was beautiful (about 80 degrees all week). We had one day where the waves were really big and I spent a lot of time trying to get good pictures. I will try to post some this weekend. What a shock it was getting off the plane to 26 degrees. BRRRR.

We did a ton of fun stuff...

  • Visited the Dole Plantation (3 times... it was close to the hotel and they had a train, do I need to say more). I've never seen how pineapples grow, that was very cool
  • The Macadamia Nut Farm. They have filmed a lot of movies and TV shows here. Plus, the tour we received from the Samoan chief was a trip highlight.
  • Pearl Harbor and the USS Missouri.
  • Had shave ice at Matsumoto's
  • Went on a whale watching tour (unfortunately didn't see any whales, but we did see sharks)
  • Visited Sea Life Park
  • Drove around the island, got to see all sides
  • The Polynesian Cultural Center
  • Ate some great meals, including dinner at Kona Brewing Company
  • Swam in the pool and went down the waterslide (Connor's 2nd favorite thing after the train)
  • Got to see fairly good size waves one day
  • Saw lots of surfing

Overall, we had a wonderful time. We were sad to leave, but are very happy to be back in our own comfy beds. Pictures soon to come! Aloha!

ALOHA!

It's official, tomorrow we leave for fabulous Hawaii. Connor is very excited... mostly because we told him about the train (The Pineapple Express) at the Dole Plantation. He also told his teacher he would bring her back the ocean AND the beach. I hope the suitcase is big enough. Have a great week everyone, I know we will. ALOHA!
